A defroster in a refrigerator is a defrost sensor used to turn off evaporator heaters in No Frost refrigerators. Thus, the defroster is an integral part of the Know-Frost system.

Defroster function - regulation of the defrost of the evaporator. When a certain temperature of the evaporator radiator is reached, the sensor opens the circuit, turning off the heater and protecting it from overheating. Simply put, the defroster is open in the warmth, and closed in the cold.
